Another ferry passing ours.

In addition to visiting the Victoria Bug Zoo and the Butchart Gardens, here's what/who else we saw on Vancouver Island!

We had a lovely dinner with our friends Greg and Sandee and kids.
It rained a lot.
We ate at this cute cafe...
...which specialised in bread rolls filled with delicious pie-like fillings (mine was beef mince). Canada's answer to meat pies, perhaps?
We saw this excellently named restaurant...
...and visited this beautiful bookshop.
There are several independent bookstores in Victoria, which is not a big city. It's wonderful to see them doing so well.
The children's section! I've been brave and introduced myself at the couple of bookshops we've visited. LTP is coming out in the US and Canada in May 2025 and is already available for pre-order on their websites!
We drove to the Butchart Gardens, but the weather was like this, so at the gate we re-booked for the next day and went back to our hotel!
After visiting the Victoria Bug Zoo, we had lunch at a fab Hawaiian restaurant. This was my salmon poke bowl — the first time I've eaten and enjoyed raw salmon!
Before leaving on Thursday, we drove around the harbour area and snapped a few pics from the car. This is the British Columbia parliament building. Years ago, B and I did a tour of it.
This is the famous Empress Hotel. B and I stayed here once, and another time Delle and I ate here. 🙂
Boats in the harbour.
Float planes are a popular way to get to or from Victoria.
We loitered for a while in hope of seeing one take off or land, but we weren't in luck.
Boarding the ferry back to Vancouver.
View from the ferry.
We had lunch on the ferry both times and were impressed with the food options and speedy cafeteria service!
