Saturday deliciousness

Saturday deliciousness
We did NOT try this!

Photos of food we saw/ate on Saturday (apart from our Chinatown visit, which we'll put in a separate post)...

Orange juice vending machine!
Fresh, robotically squeezed juice from Australian oranges. Yum!
Didn't try these...
A dress made of bacon!
Saturday lunch venue. We all loved the char siu (Cantonese-style barbecued pork) here!
Char siu and roast duck rice.
Char siu and dumpling noodles.
Char siu and chicken rice.
Char siu and wonton noodles. Our lunch meals were $8 SGD ($9.21 AUD) each.
Lime and bandung (evaporated/condensed milk and rose syrup) drinks. Both yum!
Expressions show opinions of grass jelly drink!
Our friend Addy told us cendol was her dad's favourite dessert. We found some and tried it in memory of him. ❤️
Making our cendols/chendols.
Apparently this is a jazzed-up version compared to what Mr Y would have had. But it's made of shaved ice, green jelly noodles (made from rice flour) and sweetened red beans, with coconut milk and palm sugar syrup poured over it all.
We enjoyed them!
The boys ended up not liking their ice kacangs (again, they're mostly shaved ice with syrups poured over them, plus some corn, grass jelly and palm fruits)...
... so the adults ended up with two desserts each. Can't complain when they were only $2.50 SGD ($2.88 AUD) each!
Palm fruit (left) and grass jelly (made from Chinese mesona, a type of mint) in the ice kacangs. They were sweeter than our cendols, but B and I enjoyed them!
