One of those (travel) days...

Here's a conversation had today (Friday) while carrying all our luggage, walking the 2km to the train station in the pouring rain for our high-speed train trip from Florence to Venice, having missed both of the buses we'd tried to catch to the station (but which we'd already bought tickets for)...
F: It's things like this that make us wish we'd never went on this trip, isn't it, Mum?
A: No. I'm quite enjoying myself.
F: HOW are you enjoying THIS?!
A: I can SEE the personal growth emanating from us!
F (a bit later): I'm miserable but I'm smiling.

Later, in Mestre (Venice), after our 2-hour train journey (which was only slightly delayed), we got on two wrong buses and rode them a few stops while watching our progress on Google Maps and thus realising we needed to hop off.
Eventually — after a fair bit of wandering, googling and asking people, and just before our 75-minute tickets expired — we found the correct bus. Still carrying all of our luggage and it by then being mid-afternoon without us having had opportunity to eat since breakfast, I might add!
Good thing for personal growth! 😆
