Day 1 rose and thorn

Day 1 rose and thorn
Changi Airport, Singapore.

We made it to Singapore!!!

Sometimes at dinner we do "a rose and a thorn", which involves each person sharing a highlight and lowlight of their day. Given that it's after 11pm on a massive day of travel (Brisbane to Sydney to Singapore) and we're currently just a few train stops away from our first night of accommodation, I decided to summarise our day by asking each family member for their rose and thorn from today...

F's rose: That I got to watch movies for 8.5 hours straight.

F's thorn: That we're still awake and on a train at 11 o'clock at night and we're still quite a ways away from our destination where we can actually sleep.

J's rose: What F said.

J's thorn: That we're still awake at whatever time this is and that it was a very long haul to Singapore.

B's rose: That we have such wonderful friends that helped us out with transport and tablet debacles.

B's thorn: Getting constant small boy elbows from both sides whenever I tried to nap on the plane.

A's rose: That we didn't miss any flights, didn't leave anything important behind (though we ALMOST did — see tablet debacle above — which refers to technological devices, not medicine!) and made it safely to Singapore!

A's thorn: None apart from tiredness!

Grateful boys after tablet disaster averted!
