Thrice down the mountain
Is enough for this boarder.
I prefer onsen.

The world is a cake.
It is all smoothed over with
Thick white marzipan.

Day 150 • 1 Feb • Ishiuchi 

When I think of home—
Old friends and new adventures—
I am excited.

Day 151 • 2 Feb • Ishiuchi to Tokyo

Antlers on the wall
And twangy banjo tunes—Wait.
Is this still Japan?

Day 152 • 3 Feb • Tokyo to Brisbane
